How it all began...
Back when I was a budding developer, I was told to focus only on functional requirements. A renowned software engineering professor, likely out of genuine concern, told me, “Caring about the users is not your job. You’re talented at programming, don’t let it go to waste.” I was vexed. How could he see design as a waste? I couldn’t stop myself from caring. In a world of complexities, those small moments of well-designed human experiences matter to me. Admittedly, he was right about one thing. Caring about the users was not my job. So, I made it my job. After completing my Bachelor of Computer Science at the National University of Singapore, I moved to Toronto to expand my design repertoire and gain more perspective in a city so diverse.
